The History Theatre also extends its reach beyond its own walls. Through touring productions, it shares selected plays with audiences throughout Greater Minnesota. Students in Twin Cities area schools also benefit from these enriching performances. These tours are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
The stage itself is a masterpiece designed by Ralph Rapson, a 587-seat thrust stage. No audience member is more than 40 feet away from the action. The theater fosters an intimate connection between performers and viewers.
