But how difficult is it to get accepted here? Consider this out of every 100 applicants only 3 are admitted to the campus program. So you will need to apply yourself.

To gain entry to UNAM you must prepare for the admission exam. Your performance is key to securing a place. This career path is highly sought after. Expect tough competition during the application process. In a recent application round 2998 people applied. Of these only 78 were selected. To get in you needed 87 correct answers in the exam. Remember that these numbers change each year.

What does studying Nursing and Obstetrics involve? This degree focuses on healthcare needs. It also covers treating illnesses. Its main focus is on maternal and infant health. You will learn about midwifery prenatal care and newborn care.

Graduates often find work in family medicine centers. They work in hospitals and maternal and child care facilities. Opportunities also exist in women’s health centers and delivery rooms.

If you study here expect to learn about Perinatology. You will also study Anatomy Physiology and Pharmacology. Public Health is on the curriculum too.

FENO offers two degrees with on-site classes. These are the Nursing Degree and the Nursing and Obstetrics Degree. There is also a Nursing Degree that is taught via distance learning. The Facultad de Enfermería y Obstetricia also offers 16 specializations. There is also a Master’s degree and a Doctorate.

The Facultad de Enfermería y Obstetricia provides ongoing education. You can study diploma courses and postgraduate courses. You can also attend workshops computer courses and English classes. A University Center for Community Nursing is also offered.

To apply to study at the Facultad de Enfermería y Obstetricia you must meet certain requirements. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants need a GPA of 7.0 or higher. You have to register online on the UNAM website. You pay an application fee to take the UNAM entrance exam. You will then have your photo and fingerprints taken. You will be given your admission ticket. Then you take the entrance exam. Finally you await the results.

The UNAM admission exam has nine sections. Each section tests different areas of knowledge. The exam includes 120 multiple-choice questions. You have 3 hours to complete it.

What will you study on the Nursing and Obstetrics degree? The course lasts eight semesters or four years. Students undertake internships and community service. In the first semester you will study Anatomy and Physiology. You will also learn about the History of Nursing and Midwifery. Further into the course you study genetics embryology and obstetric pharmacology. The Facultad de Enfermería y Obstetricia also offers optional courses.
