The rhythmic pulse of contemporary worship music. That’s what greets you at One Community Church. Nestled in Blackburn a tranquil Melbourne suburb this modern building stands as a beacon of faith. One Community Church isn’t just a place of worship it’s a vibrant hub for spiritual exploration.
For over eight years Dr Audio an AV installation specialist has worked closely with the church. They’ve helped shape the acoustics of this unique space. The church’s tilt-slab construction presented acoustic challenges. The sound system needed to cater to diverse services. These include everything from lively youth rock concerts to more subdued adult contemporary music. Yet the church’s proximity to residential areas demanded careful sound control. This led to the selection of a premium d&b audiotechnik sound system. One Community Church became the first church in Australia to install this advanced technology.
The main auditorium boasts a capacity of approximately five hundred. The d&b system comprised Qi-Series installation loudspeakers. Qi1s and Qi subwoofers were used alongside E3 front fills. The result is exceptional clarity and versatility. The system is driven by d&b’s D12 and E-PAC amplifiers. These are controlled remotely using R1 Remote control software. This meticulous setup ensures faithful reproduction of sound. The congregation experiences a precise audio image emanating from the worship area.
Even the selection process was unique. Church leaders attended a Tommy Emmanuel concert. This helped them appreciate the d&b system’s capabilities firsthand. Emmanuel a virtuoso guitarist provided a compelling demonstration. His performance solidified the decision to install d&b audiotechnik.
Beyond the exceptional sound system One Community Church embraces a broad range of beliefs. Affiliated with the Churches of Christ Australia it upholds a historic Christian faith. This is articulated in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. They emphasize church unity and a pattern of church life that mirrors the New Testament. They live by the maxim “In Essentials Unity In Non-Essentials Liberty In All Things Charity”. Their commitment extends to inclusivity. The church integrates assistive hearing systems like an induction loop. This ensures accessibility for the hearing impaired. One Community Church serves not just as a house of worship but a welcoming community center.
