Twenty-two adults and twelve children formed the core of this congregation. They left their local Presbyterian church in 1953. This was the seed. From this humble beginning grew the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bucklands Beach we see today.
The church’s location at 228 Bucklands Beach Road is more than just an address. It’s a testament to its enduring presence in East Auckland. It’s a place of worship. Sunday services are held there twice a day. The morning service begins at 1030 AM. An evening service follows at 5 PM. Coffee is served after the morning service. Think of the countless lives touched within those walls. Think of the prayers whispered. The hymns sung. The sermons preached.
Pastor James Hyslop currently leads this congregation. He arrived in East Auckland with his family in 2021. He grew up in the South Island. He graduated from the Reformed Theological College in Melbourne Australia. His passion is to connect with people. He wants to see them grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.
