It was born from a radical vision. The founders, Philip O’Carroll and Faye Berryman, yearned for an education that nurtured not just the mind, but the spirit. They imagined a place where children felt valued, where their happiness and well-being were paramount. And so, they opened the doors of their own home at 597 Brunswick Street, transforming it into a vibrant hub of learning. It’s a legacy that continues to this day. Today, Fitzroy Community School, with its second campus in Thornbury, remains a testament to their vision. It boasts a student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1, ensuring every child receives the attention they deserve.
