The railway passes through the beautiful Ruislip Woods. You will see the stunning reservoir. The railway connects Woody Bay station to Willow Lawn station.
The Ruislip Lido Railway has a rich past. It was originally built in 1945 by the Grand Union Canal Company. The railway initially served a shorter route. A voluntary society has operated the line since 1979.
Look around at Woody Bay station near the beach. It serves as the main station. Conversely, Willow Lawn station sits near the car parks. Willow Lawn was previously known as Ruislip Lido Water’s Edge station until 2013.
The Ruislip Lido Railway boasts several locomotives. You might see Mad Bess which is a steam engine. It is a half-scale version of the Ffestiniog Railway locomotive Blanche. You might also see John Rennie or Robert.
Keep an eye out for Eleanor’s Loop. It once served as a terminus. Haste Hill is now a request stop. It temporarily served as the terminus in 2013 during construction at Willow Lawn.
