The original structure was rebuilt in 2001. This allowed it to expand its capacity to accommodate 1,000 worshippers. Masjid Mydin is more than just a place of prayer. It’s a “Wakaf” mosque. This means it was built through charitable donations and endowments. The mosque plays an essential role in the local community. It hosts various religious lectures and educational initiatives. One notable endeavor involved helping struggling madrasah students improve their academic performance through special courses. Masjid Mydin fosters a sense of togetherness during Ramadan. A unique tradition involves reciting duaas (invocations) not just between Taraweeh prayers. They also are recited after every prayer throughout the year.
