Tonscherben tell a tale. They hint at Ullersdorf’s settlement in the 12th or 13th century. Welcome to Ullersdorf, a part of Radeberg near the Dresdner Heide. It is home to around 1600 people.
Ullersdorf’s history is long. It includes several independent settlements. These settlements are still visible today.
First, there is the Ullersdorfer Heide. It is a recreational area. It features paths for bikes and walks. This area surrounds the historic Forsthaus.
Second, the medieval village center surrounds the old Schänke. It is near the village pond.
Third, the expanded Ullersdorf has been here since 1993. A golf course opened in 1996. It lies nearby.

The Ullersdorfer Landstraße cuts through Ullersdorf.
Perhaps Ulrich the Elder of Dohna founded Ullersdorf. He was a minister for the Burggrafen von Dohna. He was mentioned once in 1206. The name Ulrichstorf appeared in 1378. This supports the theory. Back then, the village tavern paid tax to the Markgraf. The historical heart of Ullersdorf lies here.
The first Ullersdorf Forsthaus appeared in 1602. A forester asked the Kurfürst for his own place. Some houses then sprung up around the Forsthaus. The Forstamt lasted until 1922. The Schmiede am Todberg existed in the 17th century. It no longer remains. Another Schmiede appeared in 1762. It became the Gasthof Schmiedeschänke later. Lightning burned it down in 1895. It was rebuilt. An anvil stands before the building.
A new Ullersdorf Gasthof was built around 1830. It took over the old Schänke’s license. Streets and houses developed around this Gasthof. A mill existed since 1903. Today, it is also a Gasthof. The area around Ullersdorf was redeveloped after 1990. It was tailored to tourism. Ullersdorf became part of Radeberg in 1999.
Ullersdorf provides recreation. People hike and bike here especially on weekends. The golf course and the Dresdner Heide play important roles.
The 18-hole golf course opened in 1994. It attracts golfers. Ullersdorf also has a Reiterhof near the village pond.
The Försterhain is a memorial. It honors Ullersdorf forest officials. Ludwig Traugott Hänichen created it in 1922. He moved gravestones from Großer kmannsdorf. The memorial was renovated in 1992.
Ullersdorf’s infrastructure improved after joining Radeberg. Roads were fixed. The elementary school received fire protection. A new building area opened in 2007. It lies west of the 1990s area.
Bronze Age finds were made on the Todberg. These include a bronze knife.
Ullersdorf is the creation of someone named Ullrich. This person paid taxes from the forest in 1378. The oldest part of the village is at the village pond.
In 1848, the village had 49 houses and 276 residents. Today, Ullersdorf has Gasthöfe and a golf course. These attract visitors from Dresden and Radeberg. Many stop in Ullersdorf while hiking.
