Sénart began in the 1960s, an ambitious project to create a new city on the outskirts of Paris. The initial plans for Sénart envisioned a city centered around a large plaza, a grand vision of urban life. However, these ambitions were thwarted by the competing claims of nearby cities and a shifting political landscape, leading to a series of delays and setbacks. It wasn’t until 1985, after 20 years of evolution and re-evaluation, that the project truly began to take shape.
With the support of the French state and a renewed sense of purpose, a new plan emerged- a vision for “Carré Sénart,” a more practical and sustainable approach. This project, designed by the architect François Tirot, aimed to create a new urban center, one that could accommodate a growing population and integrate new technologies.

The year 2002 saw the inauguration of Carré Sénart, a commercial and leisure center designed by the architect François Tirot.
