The story begins with the Outhwaite family. They donated the land for Saint Peter’s College. Their generosity ensured a place for Catholic education in Auckland. Before Saint Peter’s College was founded there was another Catholic secondary school dedicated to St Peter. It was called Hato Petera College or St Peter’s Māori College. It existed for 90 years from 1928 until 2018 in Northcote.
