This magnificent house of worship opened its doors in April 2022. It’s more than just a mosque. It’s a testament to faith and family. Built by the Thohir brothers. Boy Thohir and Erick Thohir. Successful businessmen behind Adaro Energy Indonesia. They fulfilled their father’s wish. The late Mochamad Teddy Thohir.
The design is breathtaking. Modern classical architecture. A large central dome dominates the landscape. Four minaret towers. They reach as high as 40 meters. Smaller domes surround the main one. This isn’t just about size though. It’s symbolic. The large dome represents the father. The head of the family. Three medium-sized domes represent his children. Vitaya. Garibaldi Thohir. And Erick Thohir. Smaller domes symbolize the grandchildren. The foundation of the building. That’s symbolic of the mother. The four minarets represent the four directions. Every detail tells a story.
The Musholla At-Thahir isn’t just beautiful. It’s functional too. It can hold over 1900 worshippers indoors. Another 1300 can fit in the plaza. Imagine the vibrant energy during prayer times.
The exterior lighting is simply stunning. Martin Exterior Series lights illuminate the facade. 220 Martin Exterior Wash 110 lights provide vibrant color. These powerful lights ensure the mosque’s beauty is visible day and night. They are weatherproof too. Ensuring they shine brightly regardless of the weather. This ensures that the beauty of Musholla At-Thahir is showcased. At all times.
The foundation stone was laid in 2018. Vice President Jusuf Kalla officiated. He was the chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council. He spoke of the family’s dedication. Their devotion to building this place of worship. It’s a symbol of their faith and legacy.
