The new building included a sanctuary for 400 people. It also had departments and a primary school. The Igreja Central stayed there for 39 years.

In 1976, the Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia Central do Rio de Janeiro moved to its current location. It is on Travessa Doutor Araujo. The new temple opened in July 1980. It can hold about 1000 people. Dr Dalmo Klein designed the building. Pastor Eduardo Pereira coordinated the construction.
