Founded in 1863, The Arts Club was the brainchild of luminaries. Charles Dickens, Anthony Trollope, and Lord Leighton sought a haven for creative minds.
The Arts Club’s story began at 17 Hanover Square. After three decades, it relocated to its current home. This 18th-century townhouse had once belonged to the Stanley family. The Blitz took its toll. The building suffered severe damage but was extensively rebuilt.
Think of the names that have graced its halls. Dickens, Millais, Whistler, and Monet were all members. Rodin, Degas, and Turgenev also enjoyed its company. In 1891, James Whistler, a leading light, created the Chelsea Arts Club. He sought a different artistic atmosphere.
The Arts Club continues to evolve. In December 2020, it expanded internationally. An outpost opened in Dubai. Ajaz Sheikh became CEO of the Dubai Arts Club. In 2023, Mr Sheikh took on the role of Group CEO.

Kyubi aspires to be the best Japanese restaurant for its members. It features a whisky bar with a hand-painted Imari porcelain sake tap. This is the first of its kind in the UK.
