“Ever wonder about the secrets held within a historical monument?” That’s exactly what Villa du Breuil whispers. Let’s step back in time and explore this jewel of Normandy.

The Château du Breuil boasts over 400 years of history. Great families have shaped its prestigious past. The Bouquetots, the Montgomerys and the Bences all resided here. This estate evolved into a world-renowned brand. It’s famous for its Calvados AOC Pays d’Auge.

In 1954, Philippe Bizouard bought the Château du Breuil. His family had always distilled Calvados. He found everything he needed here. There was ample space and industrial buildings. Apples grew in the surrounding villages. Plus, there was qualified labor.

The Château du Breuil sits on 28 hectares. Its grounds feature flowerbeds and a serene lake. The distillery uses ancestral know-how. This creates a timeless setting. Listed as a historical monument, the Château exemplifies Augeron architecture.

The two half-timbered towers date back to the 16th century. They showcase oak beams and pink tiles typical of Normandy. The central portion of the Château was built in the 17th century. The estate reflects a history-steeped past. You can see it in the towers, gate, old moat, and Orangery.

Today, Château du Breuil continues to distill Calvados. It has its own orchards. These orchards are in Breuil en Auge and Saint-Philbert des Champs. They cover 42 hectares and hold 22000 apple trees. The Pays d’Auge region offers an ideal climate. Mild, humid weather and clayey soil create the perfect environment for fruit trees.

Château du Breuil combines tradition and innovation. Drawing on its history and expertise, it develops new projects. These include Rum and Norman Single Malt Whiskey.

The estate’s “from the earth to the senses” methodology is key. This allows them to craft spirits of purity and precision. The production process enriches each spirit’s original properties.

Over its long history, Château du Breuil has become a quality hallmark. It produces Calvados AOC Pays d’Auge. The estate welcomes visitors. They can explore the spirit-making stages. They can also discover the field’s secrets.

Imagine walking through the grounds. Picture the flowerbeds and the lake teeming with fish. Envision the distillery. It operates with time-honored techniques. This is Château du Breuil. It is more than just a historical monument. It is a living testament to Normandy’s rich heritage and passion for crafting exceptional spirits.
