Gertrude once had a vision on the feast of St John. She rested her head near Jesus’ wound. She could hear His heart beating. She asked St John if he felt it too at the Last Supper. He said he was saving the revelation. He would tell when the world needed it. She embraced charity for rich and poor. She felt solidarity with those in purgatory.

Gertrude assisted at deathbeds. She mourned Abbess Gertrude and St Mechtilde. Her own health declined. She died on November 17th 1301. One of her works is The Herald of Divine Love. This includes Gertrude’s visions. It also shows veneration of Christ’s heart.
