“Have you seen the news about the Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Rosario?” a man asks, his voice hushed with reverence as he gestures toward the towering church before us. It stands proudly on Avenida Cuauhtémoc. This is the Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Rosario CDMX.
Construction began in 1914 during the Mexican Revolution. It wasn’t completed until 1943 with the placement of its bells. The church is a rare example of Neo-Gothic architecture.
The devotion to the Holy Rosary has been central since its construction. The Order of Preachers, also known as the Dominicans, greatly influenced this devotion. Look closely at the stained glass windows inside. You’ll see the order’s emblem. You’ll also see depictions of the Rosary’s mysteries.

In 1965, the Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Rosario began experiencing severe sinking issues. Measures were taken to underpin it. Yet, restoration work is still needed. The parish council is seeking support to complete these repairs.
