Is there a place more sacred than a church built on faith? The Alpha Baptist Church stands before you as a testament to the enduring spirit of belief. Its story begins not with grand pronouncements, but with a whisper of faith in a small Illinois town. In 1978, Reverend William Marvin Rorer felt the call to establish a new mission. He called this mission Alpha Chapel. Initially, Alpha Chapel found a humble home in Bolingbrook, Illinois, under the sponsorship of Berea Baptist Church of Woodridge. The first service, held at Humphrey Middle School, saw only 22 souls gathered in prayer. But those 22 souls were the seeds of something much greater. The congregation, though small, thrived. By 1981, Alpha Chapel officially became Alpha Baptist Church, a testament to the growing faith of its members. They moved to a new space on Briarcliff Road, a space that served them well until a longing for something more permanent took root. The dream was ambitious: to build a new home for Alpha Baptist Church. The congregation persevered, renting space at B. J. Ward Middle School while their vision began to take shape. And then, in 1996, their patience was rewarded. The Alpha Baptist Church found its home here on Schmidt Road, a beacon of faith built on years of dedication and perseverance. This building is more than just bricks and mortar. It is a physical embodiment of the faith that brought it into existence, a testament to the enduring power of belief in the face of adversity.
