Did the stars align to bring you to Compassvale Secondary School? Here, at 51 Compassvale Crescent in Sengkang, Singapore, stands more than just a school. Compassvale Secondary School is a launchpad for future innovators and global citizens. Founded on January 2nd, 2000, Compassvale Secondary School started its journey within the walls of Sengkang Secondary School. Just six months later, it moved to its permanent home here at Compassvale Crescent. In 2002, a guiding star emerged: the North Star Education Programme. This programme aimed to provide a holistic and enriching experience, shaping students into well-rounded individuals. Since 2005, students of Compassvale Secondary School have proudly borne the name “North Stars”. Compassvale Secondary School strives to ignite that inner star within each student, fostering not only academic excellence but also strong character. The school’s approach to education revolves around integrated, engaged, and assessed learning. Teachers take on the roles of learning designers, collaborators, and holistic educators, guiding students on their educational journey. Compassvale Secondary School offers a variety of academic streams, catering to different learning paths. These include the Express course, a four-year program leading to the GCE Ordinary Level examination, and the Normal Course, which includes both Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) tracks. The Normal course also culminates in the GCE Normal Level examination. A fifth year, leading up to the GCE Ordinary Level exam, is available for high-performing Normal (Academic) students. Compassvale Secondary School goes beyond academics, offering the Applied Learning Programme in aeronautics. It also has the Learning for Life Programme which focuses on community and youth leadership. These programs empower students with practical skills and a passion for serving their communities. Compassvale Secondary School celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2015, marking a journey of growth and achievement. A commemorative book was published, capturing the school’s history, and the North Star Room, a showcase of the school’s past and present, was opened. The school’s motto, “Realising the Star Within,” encapsulates its commitment to nurturing the potential within every student.
