Founded in 1951 the Living Springs Community Church initially served Homewood. It began as Homewood Reformed Church. Services started in the Homewood Village Auditorium. Forty-five people attended the first services. The church didn’t wait for a building. They were innovative. They created community events. The New Gate Coffee House was a gathering place. The Chili Jubilee was a talent show. Bibletimes Marketplace was a summer vacation Bible school. It transformed the church grounds into an ancient village. Hundreds of children participated. The church grew. By the late 1990s the church and community were larger and more diverse. The name changed to Living Springs Community Church. The church needed a new facility. They bought land. They built a new building. It opened in June 2002. Living Springs became a Spirit-Filled multicultural church. The church blesses the community. It is a center for worship. It offers multicultural engagement and community impact. The vision expanded. In 2014 Living Springs planted a new site. It’s the Living Springs Riverdale Ministry Center. It serves residential communities. It provides spiritual resources. It helps people who are broken or lost. It is also a Spirit-filled multicultural church. It blesses its community.
