Stepping into the innovative world of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), we find ourselves at the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. In August 2022, NTU embarked on a transformative journey, merging its existing School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering with the Division of Chemistry and Biological Chemistry. This bold move resulted in the creation of the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology (CCEB). This new school, a collaborative effort between the Colleges of Engineering and Science, stands as a testament to NTU’s commitment to interdisciplinary learning. The School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, now a part of CCEB, has a rich history of producing graduates equipped to tackle challenges in diverse sectors. These sectors range from chemicals manufacturing and healthcare to energy and food production. This merger aimed to bridge the gap between pure science and engineering, allowing students from both disciplines to gain a more holistic understanding of their respective fields. Imagine chemical engineering students delving into the fundamental science behind their work, while science students explore the practical applications of their studies. The School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, now within CCEB, offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. These programs cover chemistry, chemical engineering, and bioengineering, providing students with a strong foundation for diverse career paths. CCEB also houses cutting-edge research facilities, fostering an environment of world-class research in various fields. This includes chemistry, chemical engineering, food science, and biomedical technology. The School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering’s integration into CCEB signifies a new era of interdisciplinary learning at NTU, preparing students for the complex challenges and opportunities of the future.
