A legendary dome a Parisian icon. This is the Dôme de Paris formerly known as the Palais des Sports. Built in 1960 it replaced the old Vélodrome d’Hiver. The Dôme’s dome a marvel of engineering is made of 1100 aluminum panels weighing only 200 tons. It was one of the lightest self-supporting structures in the world.
