Engage your senses. Can you feel the desert heat of the Valley of the Pharaohs? Here before us stands the Cobra des Amun Ra. This family roller coaster resides in Belantis. It is near Leipzig. The Cobra des Amun Ra is not just a ride. It is an adventure into ancient Egypt.

This coaster opened on July 4 2015. The opening happened when the temperature was 35 degrees Celsius. The Cobra des Amun Ra cost 3 million euros. This made it a major investment for Belantis. Families with children aged four and up can enjoy it. It is only two minutes from Castle Belantis.

Dare to enter the 400 square meter temple of Amun Ra. Escape is only possible on the back of the Cobra des Amun Ra. Winding paths lead past wall paintings to the station. Here the cobra awaits adventurers. In ancient Egypt people feared the snake. They feared its venom. But they also revered it for its beauty. The snake became the protector of temples.

Inside the temple complex experience visual and audio effects. Discover inhabited burial chambers. The station is beautifully constructed. It completes the theming inside.

Twenty-four brave souls can ride the Cobra des Amun Ra at once. The ride goes through the Valley of the Pharaohs. It reaches speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour. Curves follow each other over 360 meters. Since 2016 the Cobra sometimes winds twice through the desert on quiet days. After 50 or 100 seconds the snake rests. The visitors have passed the test. But the Cobra des Amun Ra is ready for new adventurers.

The Cobra des Amun Ra offers a dynamic ride. It provides a pleasant interplay of accelerations. Only its lower capacity prevents multiple rides in a row.

The station and queue are inside a temple complex. Confusing corridors create a feeling of enclosure. Light effects simulate collapsing columns and walls. These effects happen near the end of the queue. One might question the Turkish Christmas lights though.

After loading the train leaves the station. It makes a left-hand bend. Then it makes a small right-hand bend. Next is the lift hill. After a short straight line the ride descends in a left-hand bend. This is followed by an elevated turn. Then the ride enters a Bavarian curve-like course. It has high hills and deep valleys. Full of momentum the train changes direction. It briefly passes under the lift hill. Shortly after it goes through a descending left helix. Soon the brakes are reached. A short left turn returns you to the station. You pass through a wall of fog.

The Cobra des Amun Ra. A thrilling family adventure. A ride through the legends of ancient Egypt. A memory to take home from Belantis.
