“A sanctuary amidst the bustle” is what comes to mind when observing the Masjid Al-Hikmah PAM Jaya. This mosque stands as a testament to faith and community. It primarily serves the employees of PAM Jaya and surrounding offices.

Masjid Al-Hikmah PAM Jaya began without grand designs. Its construction started in 1968 near Sarinah Thamrin Central Jakarta. It arose organically to meet the needs of the area’s workers. The majority of worshippers are employees from nearby offices and shopping centers. The location within Jakarta’s commercial district shaped its purpose.

Many unique stories surround the Masjid Al-Hikmah PAM Jaya’s journey. Over the years it has become an integral part of the community. Its existence reflects the needs of the area’s workers.

In 2015, PAM Jaya Islamic Fair was held at the Masjid Al-Hikmah PAM Jaya and PAM JAYA headquarters. This event aimed to improve company performance. It focused on fostering Islamic values among employees. It also served as a platform for strengthening relationships between employees and companies. The goal was to create a PAM JAYA that is PRIMA. PRIMA stands for Professional, Respek, Integritas, Melayani and Amanah.

Ir H Sriwidayanto Kaderi, Director of PAM Jaya hoped to make the Islamic Fair an annual event. He believed it had significant positive benefits. He also wanted to invite other BUMD’s to participate and include employees’ families. Events included Islamic quizzes and Juz 30 memorization competitions. There was even a mosque award. The fair fostered a more conducive work environment. It encouraged employees to compete in doing good.

The spirit of giving back shines brightly at the Masjid Al-Hikmah PAM Jaya. During Idul Adha celebrations PAM Jaya demonstrates its gratitude. They sacrifice livestock for the community around their office.

In one instance PAM Jaya, along with its private partners PALYJA and AETRA, contributed sacrificial animals. A total of 10 cows were slaughtered at Masjid Al-Hikmah PAM Jaya. PAM Jaya donated one cow and Binroh PAM Jaya also contributed one. Aetra contributed three cows, Palyja four and Koperasi Palyja one. Erlan Hidayat, Director of PAM Jaya expressed that this was a form of gratitude to Allah.

PAM Jaya also sent two water tank trucks to City Hall. This was to provide water for the Ied prayers with the Governor. Government officials and the people of Jakarta also participated.

The Masjid Al-Hikmah PAM Jaya stands as a symbol of faith and community. It provides a space for prayer, reflection, and togetherness. This mosque continues to play a vital role in the lives of those it serves. Its story is a reminder of the power of community and devotion.
