It boasts 37 floors a true testament to modern architecture. Pasteurs Tårn isn’t just a building. It’s a tribute to Louis Pasteur a renowned French chemist and microbiologist. J C Jacobsen Carlsberg’s founder deeply admired Pasteur. He even placed a bust of Pasteur in the Carlsberg Laboratory’s entrance hall. Pasteurs Tårn’s design is a marvel. The building’s facade is clad in rust-colored steel. This evokes the area’s industrial past including the iconic Kedelhallen. The architects Wingårdh Arkitektkontor and Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter skillfully blended modern design with historical context. The building’s red facade plays with light and shadow creating a dynamic interplay. Notice the glazed corners. They enhance the feeling of a slender tower. They also offer tenants stunning floor-to-ceiling corner windows. Pasteurs Tårn houses 172 apartments. They occupy floors eight through 37. Three penthouse apartments have access to rooftop terraces. Floors two through seven are office spaces. A café is situated on the ground floor a perfect meeting point between JC Jacobsens Park and the old industrial area. Pasteurs Tårn initially held the record for Denmark’s tallest residential building. That record was soon surpassed by Lighthouse in Aarhus. Yet Pasteurs Tårn remains a remarkable landmark.
