Masjid Jami Al Ikhlash

“A humble prayer whispered in 1996 echoes in the heart of Jakarta.” Masjid Jami Al Ikhlash stands before us. It’s a testament to faith and community. It started as a vision. A relocation from a small mosque in Pedurenan, South Jakarta. The original mosque in Pedurenan was a waqf, a charitable endowment. It was entrusted to Hj. Sitinah by Raibah. Masjid Jami Al Ikhlash found its new home on Jalan Usman in East Jakarta. The first stone was laid on March 9, 1996. This date corresponds to the 19th of Syawal 1416 H in the Islamic calendar. Just a few months later, on June 22, 1996, the mosque was officially inaugurated. The local Camat, Endjang Abdullah, presided over the ceremony. From its inception, Masjid Jami Al Ikhlash has been more than just a place of worship. It serves as a community hub. It hosts religious gatherings and social events. It promotes well-being and social order through its teachings. The mosque website describes it as a place for “prospering the mosque and being prospered by the mosque.” Over the years, Masjid Jami Al Ikhlash has undergone many transformations. The leaders, facilities, and activities have evolved to meet the community’s needs. The current chairman, Ustadz Suheli, has led the mosque since 2021. He follows in the footsteps of Ustadz H. Ahmad Sanusi and Ustadz Mukhtar. They each played their part in shaping the mosque’s history. Today, Masjid Jami Al Ikhlash continues to serve its community. It provides a space for prayer, learning, and connection. It stands as a symbol of resilience and devotion in the bustling city of Jakarta.
