Beneath the skyscrapers of modern Maslak lies a tale of transformation. We are standing before the Maslak Üç Yol Camii today. This mosque stands as a testament to Istanbul’s evolving identity.

Maslak itself has transformed over the centuries. Once a rural area, it has become a major business district. Today Maslak competes with Levent for skyscraper projects.

The tallest building in Maslak is the Spine Tower. It has 47 floors. The Diamond of Istanbul will soon surpass it. This new skyscraper will have 53 floors.

The Diamond of Istanbul is special for another reason. It will be the first steel skyscraper in Turkey. Steel was chosen for its earthquake resistance. Istanbul sits on the North Anatolian Fault.

But Maslak has more to offer than modern architecture. The Maslak Pavilions tell a story of Ottoman royalty. Sultans and princes once resided here.

Sultan Abdülaziz constructed the Maslak Pavilions in the 1860s. Later, they were given to Şehzade Abdülhamid Efendi in 1868. The pavilions got their name from a nearby water reservoir.

Before ascending to the throne, Şehzade Abdülhamid Efendi worked in agriculture here. He expanded his estate. During his reign, the farm became known as “Maslak Imperial Farm.”

From 1937 to 1982, the palaces served as a military sanatorium. In 1984, they were restored and opened to the public as a museum.

The Maslak Palaces reflect traditional Turkish house plans. They cover a vast area of 170000 square meters. The complex includes the Kasr-ı Hümayün Harem section and the Mabeyn-i Hümayün reception hall. The Seyir Köşkü viewing pavilion for equestrian drills is worth seeing.

The palaces are also known for their gardens. Rare tropical plants grow in the greenhouse. The gardens are now called National Sovereignty Park.

The Maslak Üç Yol Camii stands as a quiet contrast to the surrounding modernity. The mosque offers a place for prayer and reflection. It is a reminder of Istanbul’s rich history. Maslak’s journey is far from over. New stories are being written every day. The Maslak Üç Yol Camii will continue to witness these changes. It will stand as a symbol of faith. It is a testament to Istanbul’s enduring spirit.
