Opened in 2007, Edificio T, also known as La Biblioteca Central UPAEP, stands as a modern marvel in Puebla’s historic downtown. The University of Puebla envisioned a new library, a modern information hub for students and the community. The Edificio T’s simple form and elegant materials create a dignified presence, fitting seamlessly into the urban landscape. Its design invites natural light into every corner, even the basement level connected to the older library structure. The glass facade facing the central campus emphasizes transparency and visibility. This creates a smooth visual transition from the outdoor plaza’s greenery into the library itself. Edificio T’s ground level plaza offers students dining and banking services. It also serves as an access point to the light-filled atrium connecting the building’s five levels. Each level boasts a windowed balcony, complete with dedicated study areas and comfortable lounge seating. The second level houses multi-use rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Supplementary classrooms occupy the third, fourth, and fifth levels, accessible from both the balconies and elevators, ensuring accessibility for everyone. Edificio T stands as a testament to modern design within a historic context, serving as a vibrant hub for learning and community engagement.
