Doesn’t Masjid Al Ikhlas stand as a testament to community spirit? This mosque began with a simple desire. Some neighborhood leaders in Cipete wanted a central place for prayer. It was 1967.
These leaders lived in housing complexes. They included PDK Kehakiman and Sekneg. They also represented Panca Niaga and Perdatam. Indomarin Hasta Griya and BDN complexes joined too. Local figures also joined the cause. They envisioned Masjid Al Ikhlas as a hub. It would be for Islamic outreach and faith promotion.
The idea grew stronger. Thirty-five founding figures showed tireless dedication. H.D. Dachlan recalled their door-to-door efforts. The Cipete community supported the idea. H.MA. Husein remembered early Tarawih prayers. These prayers happened in different homes. That is how the idea for Mushala Al Ikhlas began.
Nine years later, YMAI marked a milestone. A simple prayer room became Masjid Al Ikhlas. Construction lasted from 1976 to 1979. Generous donors supported the project. Muzakki and congregants gave what they could. Buya H. Amirudin Siregar led YMAI from 1975 to 1987.
The Masjid Al Ikhlas foundation has 35 founders. Their names appear in official documents. These founders include Tuan Haji Ibrahim and Nyonya Soengkono. Nyonya Karim Halim and Nyonya Sjahbuddin were also founders. Nyonya Harris and Nyonya S. Jasin Doctoranda contributed too. Tuan Harris and Tuan Djuhdi were also part of the group. Tuan Brotomoeljono and Tuan M.A. Arifin helped build the mosque.
The Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas officially began on April 11 1967. Notary R. Soerojo Wongsowidjojo SH created the deed. The deed number is 24, dated July 31 1967. The deed changed over time. The latest update is from Notary Ny. Nur Sasono SH. Her deed number is 04, dated July 30 2004. The YMAI board decided on the latest rules. This happened on September 9 2007.

Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas has a mosque and an education building. Masjid Al Ikhlas is large for Cipete. It measures 4500 m2. The mosque has two floors. It can hold 1500 people. A school building stands east of the mosque. KB/TK Islam Al Ikhlas occupies 1900m2. SD and SMP Islam Al Ikhlas are west of the mosque. They cover 5600 m2. A shop run by Koperasi Syariah Ikhlas Sejahtera operates there. It sells basic goods school supplies and uniforms.
SD Islam Al Ikhlas belongs to the mosque. The school opened in July 1980. Drs H. Sadikin A.H. was the first headmaster. The school provides Islamic education. It aims to create moral leaders. The school has achieved many awards. These are in academics and other fields. Students teachers and parents work hard. They maintain strong relationships. SD Islam Al Ikhlas wants to become an international school. It will focus on religious values.
