This frame connects directly into the road bridge. Detailed surveys ensured the steel matched the existing structure. Concrete and timber piles support the superstructure. These are at each end of the steel frame. The bridge was completed with timber decking and steel handrails. New footpaths and landscaping were also added. These lead to each side of the bridge.
Upgrades to Great South Road will include bus priority measures. There will be improvements for walking and cycling. Intersection upgrades are also planned. Stormwater management will be addressed too.
