Standing before the Time Beacon sculpture in Truganina Park, do you see its two arms, reaching towards the past and the future? It was created by Australian artist, Cameron Robbins, who wanted to celebrate the past, present and future of our community. Robbins called it a “positive and dynamic image for the future”. The sculpture is made from steel, which reflects the industrial heritage of the area. This park is located on the former site of a landfill, which was transformed into a beautiful recreational space. The two arms of the Time Beacon represent the past and future, and the central part of the sculpture represents the present. It’s a great place to contemplate the passage of time and the evolution of our city from its industrial past into the future.
