Beagleys Picnic Ground is one of four picnic areas. They are all accessible along the Sassafras Creek Walking Track. The others are Olympic, Kays, and Kensleys.
The 17km Sassafras Creek Walking Track stretches from Sassafras to Emerald. It’s perfect for exploring. Follow the track beside Sassafras Creek. Discover its unique flora and fauna. Pass through fern-filled gullies. Admire eucalypt-covered hillsides. Cross numerous bridges and boardwalks.
The forest surrounding Beagleys Picnic Ground is full of natural wonders. Towering Mountain Ash trees dominate the area. You’ll also find Mountain Grey Gum and Messmate trees. Sassafras Trees are common throughout the cool temperate rainforest sections.
The mid-canopy contains soft and rough tree ferns. Slender Tree ferns provide protection. They protect delicate fern species on the ground floor.
Dogs are allowed at Beagleys Picnic Ground. But they must be kept on a leash. Please help us care for the ecosystem. No bicycles are allowed. Also no firearms or horses. Camping and fires are not permitted. Drones are not to be operated without a permit. No generators are allowed. Removal of vegetation is prohibited.
Kallista Deli and Cafe is a great option. It’s perfect for some yummy picnic treats.
