Gary Comer College Prep opened its doors in 2008. It was created to provide a high-quality education to local families. The school is part of the Noble Network of Charter Schools.
Gary Comer’s commitment to improving urban education led to the creation of the Comer Youth Center in 2006. Gary Comer College Prep partners with the Youth Center. They together offer extended learning opportunities for the students.
In 2011, Gary Comer College Prep expanded to include a middle school. This created two campuses under one school. It served students in grades six through twelve. The middle school shares space with Paul Revere Elementary School.
Gary Comer College Prep High School started with one class of freshmen. It grew each year. In the 2015-2016 school year, it graduated its fifth class of seniors. The high school serves around 740 students.

Noble Network students receive the equivalent of nearly two additional years of math education in one school year. Gary Comer College Prep partners with the Comer to College initiative. This program provides extensive resources for college access and success.
