This skyscraper sits in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct, rising 319 meters into the air, with a total of 100 floors. The design is unique, inspired by the Commonwealth Star on the Australian flag, and a gold starburst protrudes from the tower’s slim design making it a stunning sight against the sky. It wasn’t always this impressive though. You see, the original plans for Australia 108 were much bigger, with 108 floors and a height of 388 meters. But aviation restrictions prevented that vision from becoming reality, so they had to scale it down. They initially called it “70 Southbank Boulevard” because that was the original address, but when they went ahead with the revised plans, they felt it deserved a better name, so they called it “Australia 108”. Now, imagine yourself living on the 100th floor. That’s the penthouse. This luxurious apartment, covering 750 square meters, has four bedrooms. It was sold for a record-breaking 25 million Aussie dollars to a businessman from China. It’s no wonder this building is a huge attraction in Melbourne.
