Each half placed on barrels and logs it was pushed up the hill to a new location. Sections were joined creating a larger space capable of seating four hundred and eighty people. This expansion wasn’t the end of the Church of the Epiphany’s journey. The congregation continued to grow. Architect William Schirmer designed the current church which was completed in 1950. The old church was transformed into a gymnasium catering to the needs of the growing youth.
The Church of the Epiphany has witnessed significant demographic changes. Originally built by Irish Italian and German families the parish has embraced the rich faith of Hispanic and Filipino communities. A testament to its adaptability and welcoming spirit. A Spanish Mass began in 1966 reflecting the changing face of its parishioners.
In 1999 the Church of the Epiphany was a vibrant hub of activity. Thousands attended Sunday masses hundreds were enrolled in the school and religious programs.
