TSV Schott Mainz, formed in 1953 as TuS Glaswerk Schott Mainz, has a history marked by both triumphs and setbacks. Their journey started modestly, earning promotion to the tier-four 2. Amateurliga Rheinhessen in 1962. Early success gave way to decline, resulting in relegation. For decades, TSV Schott Mainz toiled in local amateur leagues. However, the club’s spirit remained unbroken. A resurgence began in 2008. TSV Schott Mainz embarked on an astonishing streak, winning four consecutive championships. They climbed the ranks, claiming titles in the Kreisliga, Bezirksklasse, Bezirksliga, and Landesliga. Their ascent continued into the Verbandsliga Südwest, where a runners-up finish in 2013 foreshadowed greater things. TSV Schott Mainz then secured the Verbandsliga title in 2014.
