Ever wonder what a “Buddel-Tanz” is? Here at Belantis amusement park in Leipzig, the Buddel-Tanz is more than just a name. It’s a swirling, whirling family adventure. This traditional ride, new for Belantis’s 10th anniversary in 2012, sits in the “Schloss Belantis” theme world. Buddel-Tanz translates to “Bottle Dance,” but don’t expect any glass here. Instead, imagine a giant, waltzing platform shaped like a crinoline, those wide hoop skirts fashionable in the 1860s. Almost 100 people can ride the Buddel-Tanz at once, making it the park’s highest capacity ride and minimizing wait times. The Buddel-Tanz was designed and built by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH, a Bavarian company that also created Belantis’s “Drachenritt” coaster, “G Götterflug” ride, and the mega-coaster “HURACAN.” So, as you step onto this whirling platform, remember you’re experiencing a unique blend of history, tradition, and thrilling amusement, right here at the Buddel-Tanz.
