It sits on Harmood Street, a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of Camden Town. The Camden Centre for Learning isn’t your typical school. Its purpose? To support young people who have been excluded from mainstream education or have special educational needs. It might even have a history that’s as remarkable as the lives it touches. Architype, a leading architectural firm, took on the challenge of revitalizing the centre, breathing new life into these historic buildings. The project included a blend of renovation and expansion to create a space where these young people could learn, grow and blossom. Architype’s mission was to design an inspiring environment, filled with natural light and warmth. The architects carefully blended the historic grandeur of the original buildings with modern, state-of-the-art facilities. Grand Victorian halls were brought back to life, providing bright and welcoming spaces for dining and sport. The school is a testament to the power of collaboration. The design took into account the specific needs of the students and staff, offering a safe and secure environment.
