The back of the monument depicts piled bundles of papers. These represent the 30000 protective passes Wallenberg issued. The Swedish flag drapes over the top of the pile.

In 2003, the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation donated a marble plaque. It features an additional inscription in Spanish. The plaque reads “Raoul Gustaf Wallenberg. Héroe Sin Tumba.” It also commemorates his birth and his efforts to save Jews.

The left side of the monument features a long inscription in Spanish. It describes Wallenberg’s arrival in Budapest. It details his rescue of 230000 Jews. He sheltered many in safe houses under the Swedish flag.

The right side recounts Wallenberg’s bravery. It helped save 100000 lives. It explains his capture by the Soviet Army. His last resting place remains unknown. The monument also honors Argentine officials who aided those persecuted by Nazism.
