“Developing tomorrow’s business leaders for tomorrow’s markets” that’s the motto of Edinburgh Business School. Let me tell you about this globally recognized institution. Edinburgh Business School EBS is the Graduate School of Business of Heriot-Watt University. Heriot-Watt University itself was established in 1821. EBS was founded later in 1990.

EBS operates across Heriot-Watt University campuses. You can find them in Edinburgh, Dubai, and Malaysia. EBS delivers on-campus and online business education. Over 7000 in-work learners across the globe benefit from their online programs. A quarter of these online students are in sub-Saharan Africa. EBS launched a distance learning MBA in 1997 and moved to online delivery in 2003.

The school’s mission is to be a leader in accessible practice-oriented education and research. This mission is rooted in Heriot-Watt’s legacy. Heriot-Watt was the world’s first Mechanic’s Institute. It was founded to train the workforce for Scotland’s thriving 19th-century economy. EBS proudly carries on that legacy. It delivers high-quality education to support working professionals. This strengthens the organizations and communities they are part of.

Edinburgh Business School offers a range of postgraduate programs. These include a Master of Business Administration MBA program. It is one of the largest international programs of its kind. All seven core courses are available in English, Chinese, and Spanish. Three of the elective courses are also available in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Examinations are run in over 400 centers around the world. They take place each April, July-August, and December.

A Doctor of Business Administration DBA program was introduced in 2003. Currently, 70 students are pursuing their DBA research. They receive guidance from a mentor or supervisor. Various Master of Science MSc degrees in different specialisms are also available.

Edinburgh Business School is committed to sharing its expertise. It supports economic and societal development. The school engages with businesses, professional organizations, and government.
