Maple Grove Covenant Church

“A church planted with a vision for evangelism and discipleship.” That’s how Maple Grove Covenant Church’s story began in 1987. It started with a simple lunch invitation from Conference Superintendent Stan Henderson to youth pastor Larry Magnuson. The challenge? To plant a new church right here in Maple Grove. Magnuson accepted, and on December 6th, 1987, Maple Grove Covenant Church was officially chartered with 99 dedicated members. Many of these founding members came from Redeemer Covenant Church, which became a nurturing presence for the newly established Maple Grove Covenant Church. Their first services were held at Rice Lake School, but their vision quickly outgrew the space. Within three years, Maple Grove Covenant Church had constructed its own building on eleven acres of land owned by the Northwest Conference. The church building you see today is a testament to their growth and commitment to the community. Over the years, it has expanded to accommodate a range of ministries while staying true to its founding vision. Maple Grove Covenant Church is known for its vibrant children’s and youth programs, dynamic worship services, and strong adult ministry. The church’s impact extends beyond its walls, reaching out to support organizations like CROSS, Loaves & Fishes, Feed My Starving Children, and Angel Tree. They have also partnered with career and short-term missionaries across the globe. Maple Grove Covenant Church’s 35-year history is a testament to its commitment to faith, community, and service.
