Rowville Secondary College has a fascinating story. It’s a story of growth and adaptation. The college began as one campus. In November 1996 the Eastern Campus opened its doors. This expansion allowed Rowville Secondary College to offer specialized programs.

The Eastern Campus focuses on the Rowville Sports Academy and the Rowville Institute of the Arts. These programs let students pursue their passions. They can excel in sports or the arts while receiving a quality education. Rowville Secondary College added the Rowville Sports Academy in 2007. A year later the Rowville Institute of the Arts commenced.

Rowville Secondary College has a house system. Every student and teacher belongs to one of four houses. These houses foster a sense of community. They encourage participation in college events like Athletics Day. The houses are named after notable Australians.

There’s Walton named after Nancy Bird Walton. She was a pioneering Australian aviator. Stynes is named after Jim Stynes. He was an AFL footballer and founder of The Reach Foundation. Mabo honors Eddie Mabo. He was an Indigenous Australian who fought for land rights. Aston is named for Tilly Aston. She was a vision-impaired writer and teacher.

Rowville Secondary College boasts notable alumni. These include AFL footballers Hayden Crozier Connor MacDonald Bigoa Nyuon Jake Soligo Tyler Sonsie Nick Watson and Caleb Windsor. Netball player Matilda Garrett and basketballer Chloe Bibby also attended. Paulo Retre plays for the Sydney Football Club. Jonathon Patton is a former Australian rules footballer.

The Rowville Sports Academy celebrates the achievements of its students. Many have achieved success in their sports. They have gained representative opportunities. They have been rewarded with AIS or US College sporting scholarships. They have even signed professional sporting club contracts. Louise Brown plays basketball for Washington State University. Peter Skapetis and Domenic Kurasik have both played soccer for Stoke City FC’s U21 team. These are just a few examples of the talent nurtured here at Rowville Secondary College Eastern Campus.
