Brampton Manor Academy, formerly Brampton Manor School, is more than just a school. It is a mixed secondary school and selective sixth form. The Academy holds academy status. It educates students aged 11 to 19. The school’s motto is “Success through effort and determination”.

Did you know that Brampton Manor Academy is the second largest school in the London Borough of Newham? Impressive, right? The academy has a capacity for 2,046 students but actually has 2,544 enrolled.

Originally, Brampton Manor Academy was Brampton Girls School. It was constructed on this very site between 1957 and 1962. The school transitioned to academy status in 2011 and has been on an upward trajectory ever since.

Brampton Manor Academy has expanded significantly since becoming an academy. A new sports hall was built. The old sports hall was transformed into a drama studio with a theatre. A new media and art suite, including chill out area and media rooms, was created. In 2019, a new block was built for incoming Year 7 students, along with an expanded sixth form centre.

But it’s not just about buildings. The school’s academic achievements are truly outstanding. Ofsted inspections in 2012 and 2018 both rated Brampton Manor Academy as “outstanding”.

In 2018, Brampton Manor Academy was the highest achieving school in Newham at GCSE. Its Progress 8 score was 1.15. The school’s A-level results are also exceptional. In 2017, the school achieved the highest A-level progress score in Newham. The majority of sixth form students progress to Russell Group universities.

The numbers speak for themselves. In 2019, 41 students received Oxbridge offers. In 2020, that number rose to 51. By 2021, a staggering 55 students received Oxbridge offers. In August 2022, this rose to 85 students securing Oxbridge places. 185 students achieved 3 or more A* grades. 95% of the cohort progressed to Russell Group Universities.

Brampton Manor Academy offers a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre. It houses 30 air-conditioned classrooms and four state-of-the-art science labs. There is a large common room. It has excellent recreational facilities. An impressive study centre has computers, Apple Macs, textbooks, journals, and newspapers. The dedicated sixth form canteen provides good quality food and excellent dining.

The school provides excellent resources. Each student receives a recommended textbook for each subject. Outstanding teachers, many Russell Group graduates, will challenge you to achieve the highest grades.

Brampton Manor Academy also has an unrivalled careers and university guidance program. A specialist team of Oxbridge graduates leads the program. The school offers a bespoke Oxbridge preparation program. It includes training courses for admissions tests and specialist interview preparation. In 2021, 57 students progressed to Oxford or Cambridge.

Many notable individuals attended Brampton Manor Academy. Ravi Bopara is a professional cricketer for England and Essex. Jade Ewen performed at Eurovision 2009 and was a member of Sugababes. Ghetts is a grime music artist. Leah Harvey is a stage and screen actor.
