Seen from above, the Esplanade du Parc takes on a life of its own. Its organic shape mirrors the sea and the creatures within. This design wasn’t accidental. It reflects the inspiration behind the entire Olympic Park.
Welcome to the Esplanade du Parc. This area hosts many events. They range from small gatherings to large festivals. The Esplanade is not just one level. It features nine sections on four levels.
Let’s talk about some of the things you can do here. Are you a skateboarder? Then you are in for a treat. The Vans Skatepark is located here. It has a 900 square meter concrete bowl. Top skateboarders from around the world gathered here. They competed in the Vans Park Series in July 2019. Vans designed it with California Skateparks. They have built similar parks around the globe. It is one of the best places to skateboard in Canada.
Maybe you prefer climbing. Then try the climbing rocks on the Esplanade du Parc. Two granite blocks were installed here for climbing. Each block features natural lines. The climbing routes range from V2 to V10+.
Getting here is easy. The Esplanade du Parc is accessible by car. Underground parking is available at P1 and P2. Cyclists can use the bike paths on Rachel Street. They can also use the paths along Maisonneuve Park and Bennett Street. Bike racks are near the entrance. A BIXI station is on Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue. It is close to the Pie-IX Metro station. Public transportation is another great option. The Esplanade is above the Pie-IX Metro station on the green line. Buses 97, 139, and 439 also stop nearby.
The Esplanade du Parc is accessible to everyone. This includes people with reduced mobility. Accessible restrooms are at the entrance of the administrative offices. These are at 4141 Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue.
