Opened on 7 September 2009 Oasis Academy Hadley stands proudly. It replaced Albany School a school with a rich history. Albany School opened in 1939 as separate boys’ and girls’ schools. It became a co-educational secondary modern school in 1999. In 2000 it converted to a comprehensive school. In 2008 it even became a specialist Business and Enterprise college. After 70 years Albany School closed its doors. Oasis Academy Hadley took its place.
This wasn’t just any school replacement. Oasis Academy Hadley is an all-through academy. That means it caters to students aged 3 to 18. It’s part of the Oasis Community Learning group. This is an evangelical Christian charity. The academy boasts specialisms in maths ICT and music. It has close links with Oasis Academy Enfield. It’s the second Oasis academy in London.
