Have you ever heard the story of a church built on a chicken farm? Welcome to Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church in Flower Mound, Texas, a place where faith took root in an unexpected place. The church has a rich history, dating back to 1982, when a group of dedicated people envisioned a new church in the community. It wasn’t long before their dream became a reality. In 1983, Erwin and Velma Trietsch, generous individuals with a deep love for their community, donated their 10-acre chicken farm to build the church.
The first worship service was held in March of 1983, with 117 people attending, and forty-one individuals joined the flock that day. Despite its humble beginnings, Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church has flourished over the past four decades, becoming a vital part of the Flower Mound community. It’s a place where people find solace, support, and a shared sense of purpose. The church proudly stands on the grounds of the former chicken farm, a testament to the transformative power of faith and the generosity of the Trietsch family. Today, the church continues to inspire and serve the community, extending the love of Jesus Christ in countless ways.
