The school itself is larger than average. It’s located near Enfield Town. The building houses three forms of entry in Key Stage 2. Two forms exist in Key Stage 1. There’s even a thriving nursery. It’s called Little Dragons. A pre-school music group called Little Owls also thrives there. Breakfast and after-school clubs are popular. Numerous extra-curricular activities cater to diverse interests.
St George’s is a Catholic school. Its mission vision and aims reflect this heritage. However the school proudly welcomes children of other faiths or no faith at all. This diversity is part of what makes St George’s special. The school actively engages parents. Regular events connect parents with their children’s learning. These events include coffee mornings Stay and Play sessions and Story Cafes. Parents can also attend curriculum information meetings. These meetings offer invaluable support to help children learn at home. Year 6 parents get extra support. They are given meetings about the residential visit secondary school transfer and the RSE curriculum.
Parent consultations take place twice a year. These are accompanied by Book Looks. Parents spend dedicated time reviewing their children’s schoolbooks. Parental involvement is remarkable. Parents support the invaluable Helping Hands PTA. The PTA’s activities have provided wonderful social events. More importantly they have raised crucial funds to improve school facilities.
