North Dallas Church of God

In 1985, a dream took root in North Dallas. North Dallas Church of God emerged as the first Malayalee Pentecostal church in the northern suburbs. This church became an answer to prayers, a beacon for believers seeking a spiritual home. North Dallas Church of God began its journey humbly in a Plano residence. The inaugural service, held on May 12, 1985, marked the beginning of this faith community. Evangelist Johnson Varughese served as the first pastor, guiding the nascent congregation. Babu K. Iype served as church Secretary and Clerk. The church officially joined the Church of God denomination on June 29, 1985. The ceremony took place at the Farmers Branch Church of God, due to North Dallas Church of God lacking its own facility at the time. This affiliation connected North Dallas Church of God to a global network. The Church of God, headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee, boasts a rich history. It traces its roots back to 1886. This makes it one of the oldest Pentecostal denominations worldwide. North Dallas Church of God faced challenges from the start. Despite these difficulties, it persevered and thrived. Over the past three decades, it has grown into a prominent Malayalee Pentecostal church in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. North Dallas Church of God’s mission extends beyond its walls. It strives to spread God’s love. It aims to help those in need. It works to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church emphasizes the importance of Christian excellence through Agape Love.
