Over time Institut d’Educaci\u00f3 Secund\u00e0ria Son Pacs expanded its offerings. It introduced hospitality in 1959. Electronics followed in 1960 and automotive studies in 1962. The cooking program evolved into the Jun\u00edper Serra Hospitality School. This later became a secondary institute.

The Casa del Poble served the school well. However it was not originally designed for educational purposes. In 1975 the school moved temporarily to barracks. The Casa del Poble was demolished. Today the site remains vacant. It is owned by the UGT union.

In November 1981 the school found its current home. This building was designed as an educational facility. By then it was a vocational training institute. It aligned with the 1970 Education Law. Courses included administration electricity electronics and automotive studies. These fields remain popular at Institut d’Educaci\u00f3 Secund\u00e0ria Son Pacs today.

Since then Institut d’Educaci\u00f3 Secund\u00e0ria Son Pacs has transformed. It has become a comprehensive secondary school. It offers compulsory secondary education and post-compulsory studies. The name changed to IES Son Pacs in 1993.
