Fancy sharing a kitchen with 24 others? That’s the reality for residents here at William Demant Kollegiet. This student accommodation offers a unique communal living experience. William Demant Kollegiet is located on the DTU campus in Kongens Lyngby. It was built in 2002. The Kollegiet houses 100 students. They live in two blocks. Each floor has a double kitchen.

All students eligible for Danish SU can apply for housing here. The Polyteknisk KollegieSelskab manages the Kollegiet. Each resident at William Demant Kollegiet has a private room. These rooms are around 15 square meters. Each includes a private bathroom and a French balcony.

The double kitchens are the heart of William Demant Kollegiet. Twenty-five residents share each large kitchen. These kitchens are fully equipped. They even have two dishwashers. Every resident gets their own storage. This includes a cabinet for food a refrigerator shelf and a freezer shelf. Each kitchen also receives an annual budget. This budget is for buying new kitchen utensils.

But there is even more. William Demant Kollegiet also has bicycle sheds for residents. There is even a bar. A group of residents runs this bar. The large communal kitchens also serve as social hubs. Residents organize cooking clubs and kitchen meetings here. The rent for a room at William Demant Kollegiet is 3903 DKK per month as of July 2024. This includes resident contributions and fees. The deposit is 8083 DKK as of June 2022. William Demant Kollegiet offers affordable housing. It is also a vibrant community for DTU students. It is more than just a place to live.
