Brunswick Secondary College officially opened in 1995. It stands as a testament to the merging of different educational philosophies. The college resulted from the amalgamation of Brunswick Technical School, Brunswick Girls School, Brunswick East Secondary School, and Brunswick High School. While the school boasts a rich history in academics and extracurricular activities, a darker side emerged in recent years. In 2023, a Jewish student endured five weeks of horrific antisemitic bullying. Students subjected him to Nazi salutes and slurs, even physically assaulting him. The incident, exposed in 2023, shook the community and brought to light a chilling reminder of the persistent fight against discrimination. While the school has worked to address this incident, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of inclusivity and respect within educational institutions.
